Разновидность патогенных для человека грамотрицательных бактерий, оптимальной температурой для развития которых является 30-45 °С и которые могут медленно развиваться при температуре 20 °С и переносить температуру 55 °С.
Примечания
1. Выделяются из поверхностных вод, ила, термально загрязненных озер и источников, а также распределительных систем питьевого и горячего водоснабжения.
2. Служат возбудителями пневмонии «болезни легионеров» и лихорадки Понтиака. Путь передачи инфекции - через водные аэрозоли.
